A special day...

Yesterday was a special day. Our niece Caitlyn got baptized. We are so proud of her! She looked so pretty in her white dress that Grandma D made her. The whole evening was a lot of fun. The Boss gave a talk on baptism and I sang a song. It was really nice. However, our boys sure didn't do us any favors. Mama's Boy spit up all over me twice right at the beginning of the event. And Big Boy was suffering from major "no-nap" naughtiness. Both boys are usually so good. I brag all the time. And of course, as we are sitting in the front row... everyone gets to see them both acting out. I felt like eyes were watching me thinking... "that poor couple has to deal with those naughty naughty little boys". But if I know one thing about both my boys its this... NAP TIME IS ESSENTIAL!!! So, despite the lack of sleep, once we got out of the chapel and to familys house for dessert, the boys did much better. Mama's boy fell asleep and Big Brother had a blast following the little dog around. It was fun hanging out with the family, especially the Bigs, since they live far away and we don't see them enough. Congratulations Caitlyn! We love you!!

The Boss and the Lehi bunch... Ryan (I just got braces on 3 days ago); Alyssa (I'm going to BYU and can't wait); Emily (I love babies... especially Kennadi); Tyler (I look just like my Dad when he was my age) ... seriously he does, I just saw some pictures the other day.
Three beautiful women!! Just kidding... actually I'm not... we are hott! Me, Danielle & Sariah.
Aunt Sariah and Big Brother. He was giving her kisses, but I missed the photo opportunity.

Beware of the lotion... buy the stick

So today we went to the B-wood Waterpark for the first time. It was fun.... however, I have a note to all you "new moms". I'm sure most of you other moms have already learned this lesson, but for those of you who haven't, you may want to take a listen....
My anxious full-of-energy son was so excited about being there he did not want to sit still while applying sunscreen lotion. Now, on a side note, I am a sunscreen nut!!! My kid is crazy crazy white and I don't want to know what happens when he burns. So, I was wrestling him trying to finish off his face and apparently got a little... maybe a lot... in his eyes. Of course I didn't realize this until we were in the water, he was screaming, and his eyes began to swell. I AM SUCH A BAD MOM!!! He couldn't even open his eyes. To flush it out, The Boss had to man-handle him and hold his head down while I sprayed his face with a shower head. I felt like I was torturing him. It was an awful feeling. For about an hour he couldn't really open his eyes. But 3 hours later he was his happy, giggly, cute little self. So......... apparently there is a little face stick to apply suncreen on your childs face, so not to get it in his eyes, mouth or nose. We got one today. Beware of the lotion and buy the stick!

The 4th of July

So, I know its a little late for the 4th, but when I originally started our blog, the 4th had just occured, so pretend like I wrote this 2 weeks ago. Okay.

We spent the 4th of July in Modesto with Grandma D and the Willies. It was quite a little getaway, but busy, weekend. We took the boys to music in the park the night before the 4th and got to listen and clap to some fun patriotic music. Mama's Boy fell asleep, and Big Brother spent most of the time playing with a little battery operated hand-fan, that lights up red and blue. He was mesmorized.
Then we went to the 4th of July parade in the morning where again, Mama's Boy fell asleep on The "real" Boss, and Big Brother watched intensly as all the people and cars went by. There weren't many floats, but it was entertaining anyway. Then we had a BBQ at Uncle Mikes and Aunt Sariahs. We ate, played games, visited, and then enjoyed some fireworks.

Big Brother seemed indifferent about them. Like he was curious, but a little scared.
Mama's Boy clearly did not like them.
We had to take him inside, where he immediately turned his frown upside down.
So, it was busy, but fun. And we look forward to it next year.

FINALLY!

Okay, so we have finally started a blog. ... I have finally started a blog. Just so you know, I did start one a few weeks ago and I somehow totally deleted everything and was forced to start over. I was very angry. So after a while of "cooling off" I am ready to go forward again. No more deleting... I hope. We enjoy keeping up with everyone, hopefully you can enjoy keeping up with us. I will try not to make this my personal soap box (since it is about the family and not all about me) so politics will probably be off limits. Enjoy!
